Uber 將裁員 3,700 員工

Uber 在向美國證券交易委員會提出的報告中，公佈了其將裁去 3,700 名全職員工，據 CNBC 報導，這代表著總數 26,900 名員工的 14%。Uber 解釋這個決定的原因是「乘車服務部門的使用量大幅下降」與「凍結雇用新進人員」，因此裁撤主要集中在客服與人力資源部門。CEO Dara Khosrowshahi 同時表示了全年約 100 萬美元的薪資將分毫不取，與公司共體時艱，但 CNBC 也指出 Khosrowshahi 的收入主要還是來自獎金與配股，這似乎不受影響。

不難理解地，在疫情籠罩下 Uber 的收入也是大受打擊，據 The Information 的數據，本業的交通服務用量下滑了 80% 之多。雖然 Uber 以產品運輸、確保司機戴口罩等方式因應，但終究在大環境下的效果極其有限。這使得 Uber 加入了上週宣佈裁員近 1,000 人（約 17%）的 Lyft，與昨天宣佈解雇 1,900 人（25%）的 Airbnb，成為新冠疫情下的又一個重災戶了。
